Show Pony Show Recap

Sunday I spent some lovely time at the Show Pony Show in Deep Ellum. The super sweet girls from the Dallas Craft Mafia put on their first ever show and it was great! There was a live pony, some swing dancing and awesome tunes playing the whole time. I had a blast! Here's my highlights:Mia from MiaMaria greeted people in the morning at the Etsy Dallas Booth. She did an awesome job of handing out Etsy Dallas scavenger hunt cards and giving out free Etsy Dallas goodies. Abby of Pulp Reality and Carrie of Atom-in had a rocking good time near the DJ booth. If you happen to be at Bumbershoot in Seatle, stop by their booth and give them a happy hello.
Regina of Little Cookie was across from me selling her cutesy goods.Little Cookie's Happy Gyoza Brooch - Smile Little Dumpling is just simply adorable. Mandi from Scribble Scrabble and Larry, The Kessler Craftsman, got into a little slap fight and got mad when the cameras came around to film it. Man, it would have made good TV.
The Continental Lofts were filled with happy people. yay!
Before the show, everyone scurried to set up their booths and chit chat with fellow artists.

Artists Meet Up for super fun relaxy time!

EtsyDallas is hosting our first, just-for-fun, totally-dedicated-to-
socializing get together at Lee Harvey's, just south of downtown Dallas, near Southside on Lamar. Yes, ladies and gennerman (both of you!) we're having an EtsyDallas happy hour just for fun!

Lee Harvey's? What kind of place is that? What kind of name is that? Why...that's sacrilege!

Lee Harvey's, a Dallas institution, is situated on 1807 Gould Street, just southeast from the corner of Corinth and Lamar.

You can dress up. You can dress down. You can come alone. You can bring 50 of your crafty friends. You can bring your dog. No. I'm not joking. I promise you'll feel at home, never on the spot, and enjoy great libations, music and the Lee Harvey's menu.

It is roomy, mostly outdoors (meaning no smoke to breathe), uber-casual and fun with fair prices, fabulous food and good drinks. The crowd is just as diverse as everything else. The bouncers will even walk us single girls and single boys to our cars and make sure we're tight to drive home!

Please come and socialize with ETSY Dallas folks; meet your co-street-team members and just have some fun at Etsy Dallas' first-ever happy hour!

When: Friday, August 29th, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Where:
Lee Harvey's - 1807 Gould St. Dallas 75215
Who: all us crafty people
Why: Fun!

Etsy Dallas Photo Party!!!

Esty Dallas has done it again! One photo party down and hopefully more to come.

"It was an awesome event. I have a lot of photos to sort through but I think I got some good ones. Special thanks to Mandi/scribbles and Alicia/LaAlicia for loaning me various body parts to
photograph with my jewelry and notebooks."
Kara/memopause

"Thanks Carrie and James for being awesome hosts! I look forward to doing something like this again with Etsy Dallas."
pamela/pamelamichelle

"We had a great time! Thank you to everyone who came by to support the team and have a good time. It was nice to meet some newbies!"
Stephanie/tefi

"The "Photatry" (as Kara/Memopause called it) was THE place to be Sunday. The event was great -- there was talking, snacking, giggling, and photographing. It was really fun to model each others handy work while we got to know each other. Hope this become a regular ritual for our group!"
Alicia/LaAlicia

"I've never seen anything like it. The food, music, art and fabulous hosts. Flying home has never been so tragic. I really miss Etsy Dallas."
New York Post

"We had a great time and it was inspiring to see everyone's amazing work. Looking forward to more events like this in the future!"

Upcoming Show!!!

I've been on a bit of a summer break lately, but now it's time to get back in the swing of things. It's time to pound out some new art and get my hands back to crafting. That means many nights of me blaring some Chromeo or Deadly Syndrome, drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee and taking plenty of dance breaks.....yes, I said dance breaks! woo! I'm excited!!!Next month I will be participating double-time in the Show Pony Show brought to you by the Dallas Craft Mafia. Not only will I have a lovely booth of necklaces and art, but I will be running the Etsy Dallas Table too. I'm excited that the Dallas Craft Mafia has teamed up with Etsy Dallas on this Show. We're planning some awesome interactive arts and crafts for all ages. Also Etsy Dallas will have our own booth with fun giveaways. They won't be your typical giveaway either. Yeah, we're gonna make you work for it :) but not that hard, so don't fret.
